Hello! Today, I want to share my experience with affiliate marketing and tell you what I’ve learned and what my plan is. But before I begin, I want to warn you not to believe those who say that affiliate marketing is an easy path or that it is a quick way to get rich. At the start of my journey, I was very discouraged and changed fields, hoping to make quick profits by just choosing and marketing expensive products or best-sellers.
So now, I will share my experience of more than a year of research and planning:
First: The Learning Process:
Initially, I started my learning process, and with each video or piece of material covered, it kept getting easier and I felt confident that I could start my journey with this newfound knowledge. However, for lack of results, I decided to start a course focusing on understanding what affiliate marketing is. In this course, I realized that I was lacking some of the necessary knowledge. It goes without saying that you have to start with learning the basics of the field, and then when I developed a deep understanding of affiliate marketing, I started putting together a future plan. If you’re interested in the field, I suggest this beginner-friendly course. The first level is free if you want to try it, and you will also find my review of the course on my blog.
Second: Choosing a Niche:
Don’t rely on the niche of the best-selling or most expensive products because as time goes by, you’ll get bored, and you’ll end up with nothing more to offer. For example, if you continue for a month or two to upload a product every day with no outcome, you’ll feel frustrated, and I am basing this on my personal experience. So, what do you do then? Simply choose a niche that you’re passionate about or an industry that you are really interested in.
Third: Choosing a Product:
After choosing the right niche for you, it’s time to choose your products. For example, I love the fields of mental health and financial growth. Thus, in mental health, I try to offer books that I’ve read and benefited from, which makes my marketing scheme more relatable and adds to my credibility. Of course, mental health includes many things, such as sleep problems, digestive problems, anxiety, etc. And what I mean here is that whatever field you choose, you’ll find subfields, and you’ll be able to offer more if you dig deep.
Fourth: Action Plan:
Choosing the niche and its products is always the easiest part; the hardest part is always putting together a solid plan to prevent distraction and create a sense of commitment and a fixed work schedule.
Day One: Choose a topic to write about and use AI tools to compliment your writing if needed, then based on the topic, choose your products, whether they are physical products or digital products (let me know in the comments if you need some examples of affiliate marketing platforms).
Day Two: After writing the topic and choosing the supporting products, proofreading and editing are essential as well as using the appropriate visual aid before publishing.
Day Three: Open Canva and create a set of images that support your content and can be posted on social media, then create a schedule to automatically publish them over the next four days. This way, you focus on one topic for three days, and then work on the next topic and come up with ideas or drafts until the beginning of the next week.
In summary:
Your understanding of affiliate marketing and your choice of the right niche is not only the secret to success, but the plan you follow and your commitment to publishing topics or ideas you’re invested in is what guarantees consistency. Never give up if you don’t see immediate results. It may take two or three months or even more depending on your work plan. This is normal and not an indication of your failure. It’s like planting a tree; if you take care of it, it will bear fruit, but if you leave it, it will wither and die. It’s evolving, but you can’t see its roots!
